would you like to read my poem, my fellow poetry peeps?
i’m still a young teenager so i have lotws to learn about writing..
To Run Away
The even lines of printed text,
Cut across this withered page.
The string of this tale is cold and vexed,
It’s wrinkled fold is of eternal age.
Leafing through the pages, thin,
The musty scent of crushing dust.
A tale of age does sleep within,
The serpent words of altered trust.
The book has closed on my crumpled thought,
I rest within it’s dark embrace.
An interlude of hope was for what I fought,
Tis the breathing yarn that I do trace.
Turn the page of valiant word,
Drink the men that cloud her heart.
Run the earth with a buffalo herd,
To the lullaby land you shall depart.
Now run your nail along the spine…
And close the page of beauties land.
Slip the book upon the shelf, so fine,
To let your broken soul expand.
a story
You may be a young teenager, but you write with an old soul.
Loved It!
Peace.
