junior youth group activities?

I am a new junior youth assitant at our church. our junior youth class needs help. they are adolescents and mainly boys, i need to keep them interested and i need to get them on fire for God. I need help with activities or helpful websites. Also, the kids need to build trust and bonds/friendships with eachother. They are not very nice to eachother and we are there to serve the Lord, we need to be a unified youth group with a passion for Christ and love for eachother before we can effectivly serve. I want to have some kind of activities to help with this issue. there was something we played when i was a freshman in highschool at a retreat that had to do with a circle of people-passing a ball of yarn-and talking ( i dont remember exactly what it was..i just remeber it being emotional) anything will help. THANK YOU in advance and GOd Bless

one thing i learned when we took over the junior boys class was the even junior boys need a hug.
in the game you described we passed a potato because that was handy, it could be a ball, once it was called gossip and we started a phrase and each one repeated it, with the last one telling what the phrase was, and seeing how accurate it was from the original.
another one was each one completed the phrase “what I like about you” to the one next to him.

A SCRATCHY POEM by Jan Turner-Jones: It’s perfectly normal to scratch itchy bits – but don’t scratch your head or they’ll say you’ve got nits and don’t scratch your nose or they’ll say you spread germs and don’t scratch your butt or they’ll say you’ve got worms and don’t scratch your scabs or you’ll leave a raw patch … Aw, maybe it’s safer to try not to scratch!…
