What are some interesting and/or attractive objects to paint?
I am an art student and I have an assignment to paint a still life. I am trying to decide on things that would be interesting to paint. I’ve started brainstorming and now I’m stumped. Here are the things I already have listed. Can you add anything?
cupcakes or cake, dolls, tea sets, birds (phony), pill bottles, money, knives, lipstick, books, shoes, pearls, ribbons, ping pong paddles, thumb tacks, spools of thread, ball of yarn, glass of milk, steak, glass of wine, glass of amber-coloured liquor, fish bowl, can of sardines, crayons, baby bottle
Please no fruit or vegetables. That’s ALL we did in class for a year and a half! Thanks!
Glass is so interesting to paint. An idea that highlights technique is to paint the glass, something in the glass, then the rooms reflection in the glass. If you use a lot of gloss medium and layer it in, it should turn out great. Play off the light and shape.
