Things to do in HK on my trip next month?
This will be my 5th business trip. I have done a lot there, but I do not mind repeating things. I have 5 free days, and 9 long working days We plan to do:
Temple Street
The Jade Market
The PoLin Buddha
The Mancow Ski lift
Victoria Peak (Hard Rock Cafe, and the hiking trail).
We are four men over 40. All of us are committed to our women back home. None are seeking a wife or a nude show, etc.
We all plan to shop for gifts for our special ladies. My GF wants some silk yarn and a silk robe. Mikes wife wants a jade necklace.
We like beer. Yes, beer that we have never had before. We also like plumb whiskey.
Suggestions?
Welcome to Hong Kong!
There’s one more thing which you can’t miss out while traveling to Hong Kong! You must try Hong Kong local cuisine – dim sum! A lot of local restaurants serve dim sum in the morning, at noon and at the afternoon. The price is not expensive at all!
You should also try roasted pigeons which are not common in the UK or USA. Most local restaurants serve roasted pigeons. Again, the price is not expensive.
If you want to buy jade necklace, I would recommend you to go to some famous jewelry stores such as Chow Sang Sang Jewellery (http://www.chowsangsang.com/new/eng/index.htm20080212), Tse Sui Luen Jewellery and Luk Fook Jewellery (http://www.lukfook.com.hk/en/n_index.asp). You can get some decent necklaces there.
Causeway Bay (such as Times Square and SOGO), Tsim Sha Tsui and Central are good choices if you want to go shopping as there are loads of famous outlets.
Ocean Park is a theme park where people can play loads of amusement rides and see different kinds of animals. I do recommend it cos you can see Chinese pandas and ocean animals there. They also have dolphin and sea lion shows. They’re very cute!
If you want to do some sightseeing, I would highly recommend you to go to The Peak where you can see the beautiful Victoria Harbour and those incredibly high buildings. Hong Kong is famous for its night scene.
I hope this helps
Enjoy your trip!
