Knitting Placemats…?
I am planning to knit a set of functional place mats as a gift, and I was wondering which stitch would be best. I originally thought first about the garter stitch, but then I saw the turkish stitch and thought it looked a little nicer. I know generally it’s the open but would it hold up as well as the garter stitch if I used a heavy weighted yarn?
I dont’ think knitted placemats are too granny-like. I think they could be cute. I don’t really like the garter stitch. It does lay flat and is really easy, but I think the Turkish stitch looks nicer, and I think it would hold up if you used a heavy yarn
