In Montana there are many dude ranches, resorts, etc as well as big homes and ranches that are occupied only seasonally. The most expensive parts of the state are in Bozeman and the FlatHead lake regions. However there are many job opportunities in those areas seasonally especially. Bozeman, Montana is growing so fast they are having hard time finding enough people to fill their service-related jobs.
You might also check for jobs with the federal park officials at Yellowstone or Glacer Park

Additionally I used to work every summer part-way up Pike’s Peak just outside of Colorado Springs, CO at Santas’s Workshop North Pole located in Cascade, CO. They are only open part of the year and are at a pretty high altitude. However they did employ older people who played various parts and helped with the tourists. We had wranglers, rairoad engineers, Santas’s etc. It was a fun place to work.

Best Wishes.
