What brand of yarn is very bulky, soft, and washable?
I am crocheting a scarf. I tried Wool-ease thick and quick but I feel like it is itchy. I would like a yarn that meets this criteria:
Soft
Super Bulky or at least Bulky
Machine washable and dryable
Sturdy – won’t pill or matt
Several available colors
Readily available at Walmart, Michaels, or Hobby Lobby
Under $8/ skein
Any knitters or crocheters out there? I want something that will go fast and be soft. What are your favorite yarns?
Lion Brand Jiffy or Jiffy Thick and Quick – About $4-7 each depending on where you get it.
Lion Brand Homespun – about $5 each. MANY colors out there.
Bernat Softee Chunky – about $6
Bernat also has 3 extra bulky baby yarns. Less colors choices but thicker than Softee.
James Brett Marble Chunky is really silky soft but harder to find. Craft Warehouse carries it. Might be slightly expensive compared to the others.
