Think Outside the Box for Your Next Christmas Party
Cold weather and snow seem to be a natural part of Christmas; however, if you live with it all of the time then why not consider different Christmas party ideas this year, such as a tropical Christmas? Send out invitations asking everyone to wear something tropical and perhaps your party decorations can include a few inflatable palm trees or even a pink flamingo or two; make the Christmas tree skirt out of felt with palm tree drawings and seashells.
The beach party theme can be extended to the food as well if you want. You can serve it Luau style by placing several blankets on the floor with shells and greenery placed on them as decorations. Since traditional Luau style food may not be easy to find you can be creative by preparing a pineapple glazed ham.
Throwing a Christmas party for the kids may seem like a lot of work or you may have trouble coming up with ideas for Christmas parties for kids. If so, then consider a Candy Land Christmas party theme. You can decorate by making Hershey Kiss garlands. Lay out long strips of plastic wrap, put 2 or 3 kisses together, move down and do it again. Continue to the end of the wrap and then take some curling ribbon and tie knots between each set of kisses. Make lollipops and candy canes to use as decorations, perhaps making 2 extra large candy canes and arching them over the main entranceway.
To amuse the children, have them make Christmas party decorations that they can take house, such as a sleigh made of candy. For this use two candy canes (curled side up) for the sleigh, glue a Hershey miniature chocolate bar about 1/4 of the way down above both candy canes and one more directly in front of it, then taking one more and gluing it straight with the others to look like a seat. Take a small chocolate Santa Claus, put a bit of adhesive on his feet and affix him to the back of the chair. Get a few small wrapped Dove bars (they have them wrapped like gifts) and attach them to the seat like wrapped presents.
If you use a little imagination, then you will no doubt come up with many other ideas for Christmas parties, such as decorating with Gingerbread people everywhere. How about a Snow Ball theme, with snowflakes hanging from the ceiling, white twinkling lights and glittery blue and white tablecloths?
