Exotic Wildlife of Ladakh
Travel Ladakh to encounter the exotic and rarest fauna species. The Himalayan wildlife animals posses amazing features and looks. They roam around freely on the rocky mountains and have adopted the alpine climate of the Ladakh.
Avian Species
The Himalayan species of birds are of great interest for the bird watchers. Ladakh is habitat to numerous avian species like Tibetan snow cocks, bearded vultures, griffon vultures and many more. Visitors cam also watch some migratory bird species including Black-necked crane etc.
Fauna Species

Yak
The most fascinating animal f Ladakh region is Yak. They can be seen gazing on the Himalayan valleys at an altitude of 6,000 m. Their body is covered with shaggy black hairs
Ibex
The Ibex is a typical kind of goat having two impressive huge horns, curved backwards in spiral. The length of horn usually measures 147 cm. They can be found in herds of 10-16. wildlife enthusiasts can see them climbing the steepest of cliffs in Ladakh.
Bharal
The Bharal also known as Blue sheep is an impressive wildlife species inhabiting the regions of Ladakh. The body of Bharal is covered with gray-blue color hairs and possess characteristics of both goat and sheep. Blue sheep can be seen at an altitude of over 6,000 m.
Chiru
The Chiru also referred as Tibetan Antelope is an endangered Himalayan animal. The animal is hunted by the poachers for its fine wool, which is used to make Shahtoosh. To ensure the protection of Chiru, trade of Shahtoosh has been banned by the government.
Snow Leopard
The ferocious predator of Himalayan region is a great delight for the wildlife enthusiasts. It is a thrilling experience to watch Snow leopard preying goats and wild sheep. The animal has been continuously under threat as it is being killed by the poachers for its silver grey pelt.
