Wool Vs Fleece

Wool vs Fleece Coolers?

I’m in the market for a new cooler and I’m curious about the differences between these two types of cooler. I’ve always used wool and been happy with the results but I’ve noticed many fleece coolers while I’ve been shopping around. It seems to me that fleece would hold too much moisture. Anyone have experience with both?

I’m buying for a warmblood with a lighweight winter coat and a fairly mild climate. I ride primarily in the afternoon and evening when the temperatures are 40-60 degrees. I have a covered place to ride but she is new to me and out of shape so she gets hot and sweaty very quickly. Any advice?

I live in a cooler climate than you but I have always found the fleece coolers to work well. However the ones I have had in the past are ones that have to be pulled over the horses head, so if your horse is head shy, then I would choose something else. I think fleece is usually cheaper too.
You can also try using hot water with a sponge and wiping her down before putting the fleece on her, thats what I used to do
