Attention Scottish folk: Where can I order a silk MacArthur tartan/plaid necktie?
all I can find is wool ties for this particular tartan… I have located several other silk ties in other patterns/tartans… Is there no store that carries this? I understand wool is more traditional, but I’m looking for silk. Am I going to have to buy some silk in this pattern and have a tie made? Is that my only option?

Really don’t know where you would find it, but this is something you would never come across in anything other than tartan tat tourist shops here in Scotland. Not sure what you are trying to achieve looks wise and it isn’t that wool is simply a “more traditional” option over silk, but a tartan tie in silk, no matter how expensive or well made, will never appear to be anything but cheap and tacky.
If it REALLY has to be silk, and you are willing to get something made, then perhaps a nice silk tie with the clan crest would be a better way to go.
