Britax Boulevard 70, Just Bought Another For Daddy’s Car

I was buying convertible car seat to replace a baby carrier/carseat for my now 10-month-old child ,. I was worried that I wouldnt be capable of comfortably fit a seat in my own 2005 Honda Civic Sedan, and even more worried buying something online that would be more of a headache to gain if it didnt fit. Hopefully my review will help someone else decide for sure if to get this Britax Boulevard 70. These had been my concerns:

SAFETY: Having done alot of research plus actually having seen both a Marathon 70 and then a Boulevard 70, the specs are identical, except the Britax Boulevard 70 CS has the added side cushioning pad for the head (they call it True End Impact). I put my son while in the seat, and having that extra padding will mean that his little head wont move sideways the maximum amount if we get hit in a good side impact collision. Of course all carseats that you can purchase must meet the minimum Federal safety standards for child car seats, so this extra padding feature is what sold me within the Boulevard (the Advocate also has this plus a further padding around the side exterior brain area but is more $$).

TRUCK FIT: I am currently using typically the seat REAR FACING, and it DOES fit in the back seat of my civic sedan. I first positioned directly guiding driver seat, which was not beneficial, as I had to push the seat to date I didnt feel comfortable driving (I are about 5’5″), but sliding the seat over toward the center allowed me to move my seat here we are at its normal position (I like accomplish the seat reclined alittle). This works fine for me, as there is still enough space for my 8 year old child to sit. A larger person sitting back there most likely is not as comfortable though.

INSTALLATION: Compared for you to other seats Ive used/installed, this one seemed relatively easy to get a tight fit, with very minimal movement (I started using it to less that 1/2″ movement along at the base on my first try). I installed the seat with the lower LATCH connectors, which clicked in to the car’s LATCH anchors very easy, and clicks for a seatbelt. It was easy to tighten the belt, but NOT so easy aiming to loosen it. I did not try using the seatbelt method. At the bottom in the drivers seat (where the seat is bolted towards floor), I popped off the plastic piece to add the tether. I did put a rolled towel for the crack of the seat to assist level it, which is acceptable per the instructions I really believe.

EASE OF USE: My back seats is small, so I have to hold my son in a lying position and twist my body slightly to get him in the harley seat. Uncomfortable for now, but it will be easier when he’ll hop into the seat by himself in a few months. The quick adjust feature means i always wont have to remove the fit and re-thread the harness straps once my son gets taller (which is mostly a pain to do, and I dont be required to worry about it getting all sprained or not securing it correctly). The rubber “HUGS” things that come with the harness is supposed to provide additional torso support in a frontal or rear crash, but I do think it also helps keep the tie from getting all twisted. Britax touts having these little velcro pieces privately of the carseat and on the harness that is supposed that may help you by keeping the harness from falling in the seat (which is a pain trying to pull out from under the baby), nevertheless it really doesnt help much – the velcro seems too short or positioned in the wrong place or something.

EXPENSE: I got my first seat as a result of Amazon for $229. 00 with 100 % free shipping. The second seat for my own husbands vehicle from Amazon for $244. 95 also with free shipping. Locally the equal seat costs over $300 plus tax. My local Sears is selling that Safety 1st Alpha Omega Elite for $180, and Walmart is selling the Graco My Ride 65 relating to $150. For me, the extra safety and convenience features Im getting aided by the Boulevard 70 are worth the more cost.

ARRIVAL: The seat arrived via UPS rapidly (it took 4 days from Pennsylvania to Hawaii with free super saver shipping), without the need of damage to the box or the actual contents.

I hope that my review may help somebody out there in for some reason. We all have our own reasons we choose a thing over another, but for me, Now i’m so pleased with this seat which just purchased a second Britax Boulevard 70 intended for my husbands vehicle. Sorry I didnt want to take any pictures. Ive seen men and women putting their pics on here, so if I can figure out how, I will add some.

Back in the 1960′s, a small firm in Hong Kong, the Great Wall Plastics Factory, created a dirt-cheap 120 camera called the “Diana.” Crafted entirely of plastic, each camera cost about a dollar.
