What kind of yarn do you use for knitting??? and how much is yarn(the price)?
okay so im new to knitting and tomm. is the thanksgiving sale so i decided im gonna get yarn tomm. and i might get it on discount!
so can you guys tell me which badn is the best, which brand you use, and how much it costs!
The type of yarn I use depends on the project I’m making. I use Red Heart worsted weight for afghans and some sweaters. I use several different brands of fun/furry yarns for hats and scarves. I like to use bulky yarns for slippers.
Before purchasing any yarn, get the pattern for the project you want to make and take it with you to the store. Get the same type of yarn and the same size needle if you want the completed item to look anything like the picture with the pattern.
Pure wool is really nice, but it is easy to shrink it when cleaning/washing it if you are not careful.
I use Caron yarns, Red Heart, Paton. The price can vary considerably depending on whether you get it at a yarn shop or Wal Mart or K-Mart. We have a Big Lots in town, and they sometimes have some of the specialty yarns for $1 a skein or ball. These are yarns that normally cost $5 or $6.
