Knitting question – what is ssk?
The definition is this: “Slip next 2 stitches knitwise one at a time. Pass them back onto left-hand needle, then knit through back loops together”.
Does it mean I transfer 2 stitches from one needle to the other without knitting? Then I have to pass them back to the left hand needle…so what was the point? And what does “knit through back loops together” mean?
Please help! I’m new at knitting so I’m really confused with the lingo. Any clarification would be very greatly appreciated. Thank you!
It’s a way to make the stitches look different. Instead of the loops going up and down they will look sideways.
