How to convert knitted patterns into crochet?
I bought a book on making knitted stuffed animals.
I’ve already knitted a few, and although I liked the final product, it is extremly tedious compared to crocheting amigurimi.
What I would like to know is, how can I go about converting the knitted patterns to crochet patterns? Please keep in mind I am refering to making stuffable soft toys.
So far, all the “solutions” i found online are for converting clothing/scarves,etc.
By the way, I already know how to knit and crochet. Its just that I find crocheting faster and more convinient (2 big needles are not nice to carry around in public). So do NOT suggest “just learn both”.
In the Japanese art of Amigurumi you interpret every animal as spheres, tubes , half of a sphere etc. Like the arms and legs are tubes, the body and head is a sphere and so on…… If you know how to crochet in the round it wouldn’t be hard to do at all. Get a good book from the library and try a few. This will make it easy for you to turn any knit pattern into crochet. Youtube is also a great place to look for some great amigurumi videos.
