What would you recommend someone with no crafting experience should start off with?
well I’m procrastinating a little at the moment dreaming of all the things I can do after I finish university in a week. I have this romanticised picture in my head of me becoming something off a wizard with fabric and thread etc. but I have no experience of crafts of any kind. I don’t even know the words to describe what I’m talking about. I would love to start being more creative. But I have no idea where a good place to start off would be…..cross stitch kits, embroidery, knitting?? So does anyone have any suggestions? I have never been taught to sew or anything…
Okay I feel ashamed of my ignorance. I realise now what I meant was needlework. What type of needlework would be the most suitable to start on?
go to a craft shop and buy a cross stitch kit, it usually comes with the embroidery thread, needle, and pre printed with the colours and picture you intend to sew.
this is the easiest way to begin.
or just go to a craft shop and see what catches your eye, ask for the staff for some advice.
