Double Crochet Flat Circle

Can I keep crocheting with this system to any size circle?

I’m crocheting a simple circle, just as a relaxation exercise. The system I have is single crochet in the first and second, double in the third. Next round single in 1, 2 and 3, double in the fourth and so on. Can I just keep going like this and will my circle stay flat or will it eventually buckle? If so, what do I need to do to keep my round flat?

If the suggestion made to you does not work{and I say this as I have not had to do the increase with single crochet} every few rows that your crocheting lay it flat and if it is flat your ok but if it ripples you are going to have to rip it down to where it dos lay flat. With regards with crocheting this way keep a piece of paper handy to write down your pattern as you may forget or be interrupted or put it down for a while. Hope this helps somewhat.
