Cross Stitch Thread Color Codes

cross stitch thread color codes
What’s the difference between counted cross stich and numbered cross stitch?

I’m looking for a project that has actual numbers on the canvas and is color coded. In my last question I got answers saying that it’s numbered or counted cross stitching. I got two counted cross stitching on them and they don’t have numbers nor is there a picture on the canvas.
It’s needle thread not yarn thread.

I got a project at walmart where it was numbered and color coded. say 7 was dark green so you used dark green thread for the trees.
All I could find is stamped cross stitch. what’s that?

Stamped cross stitch is when the design is “stamped” onto the fabric. The X’s are on the fabric and you stitch over them. It usually includes color coded thread. Counted cross stitch is done on “blank” fabric, using a graph. You “count” out your stitches on the fabric according to the graph. It also has color coded thread which can either be included in the project, or you can buy the graph, fabric, and thread all separately.
Needlepoint is done on canvas (either plastic or mesh) and the project can be stamped onto the canvas mesh, but is not always. I have never seen a plastic canvas with a project stamped onto it, only the flexible mesh. Needlepoint is done with yarn and cross stitch is done with thread/floss. Hope this helps you out.
