I need help with a crochet pattern?
this is a basket weave dishcloth that I’m working on
simple right?????
row 4 ch 1 turn, sc in back loop only of 1st stitch across. 44sc
Here’s the problem ; row 5 without cutting yarn, slip contrasting color in loop left on hook of last sc. ch1, turn sc in back loop of 1st stitch and each stitch across 44sc
I don’t understand the part about not cutting the yarn and slipping the contrasting color onto the loop, do I keep the previous color on the hook and how do I continue to crochet with it on, won’t it get in the way?

If you are going to change colors do what they say and on the further rows cover the 1st color with the stitches you have on the ends of the rows. If you are using only one color ignore that and just continue. By not cutting the thread you can cover it easier than cutting it and then going to another thread, going back to the first ,etc. You may have trouble carring the additional thread with it this way but since it is only a dish cloth it wont be happen too long.
