Crochet Patterns For Stuffed Animals

crochet patterns for stuffed animals
How do I interpret this copyright for a crochet pattern?

I bought a little book of crochet patterns to make little stuffed animals. The copyright on the inside of the back cover says…

“Copyright 2009 [Company Name], all rights reserved.

“Copyright 2009 by [Company Name and Address]. All rights reserved. This publication is protected under federal copyright laws. Reproduction or distribution of this publication or any other [Company Name] publication, including publications which are out of print, is prohibited unless specifically authorized. This includes, but is not limited to, any form of reproduction or distribution on or through the Internet, including posting, scanning, or e-mail transmission.”

It sounds like only the pattern itself is under copyright. I want to use the pattern to make the item and sell the finished product. Can someone tell me if my actions would be legal under this copyright?

by what it states its not the pattern but the book of the pattern that cannot be used for commercial purposes. note it states publication not pattern. so you can make as many things that you want with the pattern just don’t copy the booklet or book or whatever the pattern is printed on and sell that.
