i don’t understand how to go from step one to step two i need a explanation for dummies
Round 1: Chain 3 (counts as a dc). Dc into center ring. Ch1. {2dc, ch1} five more times. (6 dc groups total). Slst into top of ch3 to join.
Rd 2: Slst over dc and into next ch1 space. Ch3. {Dc, ch2, 2dc} into same ch1 space (shell made). {Ch1, 2dc, ch2, 2dc} into each ch1 space around. Ch1 and slst into top of ch3 to join.
The beginning of round 2 tells you how to move up to the next round.
You do a slip stitch in the top of the ch-3 from the previous row (remember it counts as the first dc), then another slip stitch in the top of the next dc (the first “real” dc), then one last slip stitch in the ch-1 space. You’re making something along the lines of a doily. In order for the next round to start and finish correctly, it is necessary for it to start in a specific place. You could be instructed to cut the thread and move to that place, but that would be messy. So generally you are instructed to use slip stitches to move to the correct location.
Once in that ch-1 space, you are instructed to ch 3, which again counts as the first dc. Then you’ll finish the shell all in that same ch-1 space. After that, you put regular shells in each of the other ch-1 spaces.
