I am a newb to crocheting so i was wondering as with knitting needles is it better to have long hooks so you can do more projects? I saw a afghan ook and i was wondering is it better to purchase hat size hook (14″) or should i buy the 5 inch crochet hook i don’t want an answer to a beginner i want to know what is better for the long term over different projecs i do

And another thing please no answer about the hook sizes according to letters and or us sizing I don’t care right now about that kind of sizing i am talking about the shaft. Also i will buy all of the sizes that are available anyway
Crochet doesn’t stay on your hook the way knitting stays on a needle as you work. Because it functions stitch by stitch, the length doesn’t matter.
All in all, I recommend the Clover Soft Touch crochet hooks. The handle is thicker and softer, which makes it really comfortable to work with for longer periods of time.

They’re especially nice for smaller sized needles.
