Washing a Victoria’s Secret Pink hoodie with sequins & lettering?
I have a hoodie from VS Pink that got muddy & needs a really good washing. I did rinse it out, but I’m thinking only machine washing is going to get the stuff out. I’m afraid the machine will ruin the hoodie.
I have another hoodie from there, and when I washed it, it lost that soft feeling and it even seemed to thin out and get wrinkly. I followed the care instructions to the T and this still happened.
The muddy hoodie has a sequined peace sign on the chest that seems to only be threaded on the jacket with one string, and it also has writing on the arms and on the back.
When I first got it, I hand-washed it, but it took me ages and it was almost impossible to do. I’ve only had it for about two weeks, so I haven’t washed it since – but like I said, it’s pretty much soaked in mud.
The material is 60% cotton and 40% polyester.
Are there any special precautions I should take to keep the thing in good condition?
Zipper it up and turn it inside out before you wash it. If you have one of those mesh bags to put it in, that would cause less damage to the sequins. Also, wash it on delicate, even if you need to run it through twice.
