Clover Circular Knitting Needles

What is your favorite brand of circular knitting needles and WHY?

I like the Clover regular needles but their plastic looks like a big garden hose on their circulars, which brand do you think is easestto work with?

I own an array of circular needles in bamboo, bright and dull metal, and plastic from about 16″ long to 60″ long and in every size from #1 to #19.

I too like Clover circs in the smaller sizes. The price is right and they handle very well. The larger sizes can sometimes be TOO efficient in holding they yarn, so I prefer metal needles in the larger sizes. I agree that the cable is too heavy and not nearly flexible enough, so while I am using the ones I have, I haven’t bought Clover in at least 3-4 years.

Susan Bates Silvalume needles work well for me also, especially in the small sizes I use for socks. They come in 29″ length, which is a good length for much of the work I do. If I were to suddenly develop an emergency need for a circular needle, I’d go to the nearest craft store and buy the longest Silvalume circular needle I could find in the size I need.

My allover favorite needles are Addis. They come in the longer sizes I prefer for “magic loop” knitting and they come in either “blunter” or “sharper” points to accommodate the project I’m knitting. Most of the ones I have are 60″ long, which will accommodate knitting three pairs of socks or three pairs of mittens at the same time (that way they are all exactly alike).

I do not own one of the sets of parts from which one can build a circ. I have heard good things about the Knit Picks set and I may try them in the future, but so far, I have all the needles I need at the moment.
