Knitting needle organizer?
I need a hardcore one. Something that can arrange my straight, circular, and massive amount of dpn’s by size (and my needles range from 000 to 10.5, as I’m primarily a sock and lace knitter), and is well-organized and makes it easy to access everything. Any suggestions? (Because the coffee tin they’re currently in isn’t *quite* doing it.)
I have seen those expensive ones with slots for each size. I have never seen one that was less than 29.99.
Here’s what I use—I have a rubbermaid container with a bunch of needles in it. I use rubberbands to hold together needles of the same size. I’ve got tons of needles (my mother in law is a realtor and everytime some elderly woman sells her house she gets rid of her needles and they end up with me). This has been the best way for me.
I also have one of those large rubbermaid containers that slides under the bed. I keep my needle container in it, as well as unfinished projects and yarn. That way my kids won’t step on my stuff or play sword fights with needles.
Since you’re a sock knitter, you’ve probably got lots of short, double pointed needles. I used to keep those in a pencil box with rubberbands around each set. It also holds my little tool that measures the needles.
Good luck!
