Knitting hat on circular needles but forgot stitch marker mid-way!?
I have been using a stitch marker to count my rows while doing my hat, but I forgot to transfer it onto the other needle on one round. I just continued knitting until I realized that I had forgotten. How do I know where to put it back. I still have the casting on tail and if I go up the hat in a straight line from the tail will that be the starting place?
Any help on how you do this would be great!
Thanks!
Yes! Just look where your casting on yarn is, and move your finger up that row of stitches, and that will be your starting place. You don’t need to worry too much about where exactly you started, anyways, assuming you’re just making a basic hat. I find that when you start the decreases, it really doesn’t matter where, as long you have a relative idea of when that row is finished. I hope I didn’t confuse you!
