Question re: circular knitting needle length and Boye NeedleMaster Set?
If I were looking for a 16″ circular needle, does that mean that only the cable is 16″, or does that include needle tip to needle tip?
For the Boye NeedleMaster Set, you can buy 16″ cables as an add-on to the kit…..is this to make 16″ circulars, or is the cable 16″ and then you have to add in the size of the needles on top of that?
I measured a few of my circular needles, various brands, and they all base the measurement needle tip to needle tip. So the actual cable is always a few inches shorter. How much depends on the length of the needle tip, so that varies from brand to brand. I don’t have the Boye set, but I do have the Denise set. The closest I can get to a 16″ needle is to use a 9″ cable, and I would have a 17″ needle.
