I need a crochet afghan pattern for a man?
My brother in law went out and bought me 20 skeins of greens and browns. He wants a tight stitch afgan. (No granny squares) I know chain, singles, doubles, triples and scalloped edge and of course granny squares. AND it has to fit a db bed..Any ideas?
If you know how make an afghan that is sorta a take on the Granny Square, just one big one.
Start out by making a chain about 12 in long.
Go back on the chain with double crochet putting one in each hole. when you getto the end put 4 double crochet in that hole continue around back up the other side with double crochet in each hole and when you get to the other end put 4 double crochet in that hole.
You should have the chain in the middle surouned by double crochets and 4 on each end.
Join with the first double crochet you made. Chain 3 put two double crochet in the hold next to your chain. then three in each hole till you reach the end with your 4 . make 3 double crochet, chain one then three double crohet in same hole move over one hole put in 3 double move over on hole put three double one chain three double
work your way back down the bottom side with 3 double in each. same thing when you get to the end 3 double one chain 3 double move over to next hole three double move over three double one chain three double. attatch to the chain you started with.
at this point you should end up with an almost an oval shaped piece and you will have started your four corners. Chain 3 put 2 double in the hole by that continue around as you would a normal square.
if you make it large enough and since it is rectangle it fits a bed much better than just a large square.
It sound more complicated that it is.
